In this master class I will tell you how to turn a simple plate into a decorative interior item using the decoupage technique and the technique of spot painting.
For work, we need:
1. Glass plate.
2. The napkin is dense, 3-ply.
3. Acrylic varnish for artwork.
4. Acrylic paints for artwork.
5. The contours of glass and ceramics firm "Sonnet".
6. Construction glue PVA.
7. Brushes.
8. Sandpaper "nulevka".

Step 1. We lay out the napkin, put a plate on top of it, select the fragment with which we will decorate the plate, circle and cut it out. From the cut fragment, we separate the upper layer with a picture, we will continue to work with it.

Step 2 Bonding napkins. To do this, wash the plate with any detergent and dry. Turn the plate upside down and put a napkin on it with the pattern down. Next, gently fan the water onto a napkin with a fan brush until it is completely wet. After that, use your fingers or brush to smooth the napkin on a plate, removing the creases and air bubbles that appear. Then we dilute the PVA glue to a liquid state and pour a little glue into the center of the plate. From the center to the edges, we begin to smear the napkin, especially carefully doing it around the edges. Everything must be done very carefully, with light touches, as wet wipe easily stretches and breaks! Then dry the napkin with a hairdryer.

Step 3 IMPORTANT! Varnishing wipes. Varnishing will protect the napkin during further priming from impregnation with paint and give the picture a rich color! Glued and dried napkin is covered with acrylic varnish in 2 layers with a hairdryer of each layer. After varnishing with sandpaper, remove excess pieces of tissue at the edges and gently sand the remaining folds.

Step 4 Padding. Using a piece of foam rubber, apply white acrylic paint to the dried varnished napkin using the “poke” method. The first layer should be thin, dry it with a hairdryer, apply a second layer and also dry. Further, the plate can be covered with acrylic paint, matching the color of your napkin, and varnished so that the back of the plate also looked beautiful.

Step 5 Painting by contours. In this case, the napkin pattern is circled in glass with gold and silver contours using the technique of spot and contour (solid) painting, which gives the plate an additional decorative effect.
