What is needed to make a lamp?
- - Rectangular slats.
- - 4 long bolts with nuts (Can be cut with a hacksaw).
- - 4 corners with plastic dowel-nails for attaching to the ceiling.
- - Plexiglass.
- - 2 rounds with thought bulbs. You can take everything in a single copy, or vice versa all in 4, depending on how much light you need.
Ceiling Light Making
The first thing to do is determine the size, given the number of your lamps. You can also choose a shape: square or rectangle. I made a rectangular lamp.
After the choice is made, we carefully cut 8 bars. We drill two holes in each and try to assemble the lamp frame. If everything suits you with sandpaper or on the machine we process the surface of wooden bars: smooth the corners, make the tree smooth, remove all burrs.
Then we cover our blanks with varnish with the color of wood. Or first we pass stain 1 - 2 layers, depending on the shade, and then we cover with ordinary varnish on wood.
To the size of the central rectangle, cut out plexiglass. Gently enlighten the mounting holes. Let's apply to the frame. If all goes well, we process all the glass on both sides with sandpaper. We remove sharp corners, make the glass frosted.
Such plexiglass, treated with sandpaper, perfectly diffuses the light flux. The light in the room where the lamp will hang will be smooth and soft.
At the end, we fasten the lamp with screws, but we still do not fasten the plexiglass. We fasten the lampholders for lamps and ceiling mounts onto screws.
We drill holes in the ceiling for the dowel-nails. We hang the lamp. We connect the wires, screw the lamp. We dress plexiglass and fasten with decorative nuts. It turns out that there is a distance between the wooden frame and plexiglass.
That's all. Creative and original lamp is ready. I am sure that such a ceiling lamp is not only not inferior to the purchased ones, but in appearance it even surpasses most models.
There is also an option to apply a picture, such as a Chinese character, to Plexiglas from the inside. And then your star will immediately change the style in a more eastern direction. But I settled on this. I prefer the more classic version.
