Tourists and travelers, fishermen and hunters often stay in the forest at night, it’s dangerous and uncomfortable to spend the night without a bonfire. But how to maintain its long burning, and to rest yourself? There is an original solution, though it will take a little work to implement it.

Instruments

It will take a saw, an ax and a desire to complete the task. To make such a bonfire, quite a lot of physical effort is needed.

The principle of the fire

Before proceeding, it is necessary to understand the important nuances of the process of burning such a fire.
Dry logs are used for the fire, their diameter depends on the presence of wood nearby and the required flame size. Logs are stacked on props at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. The angle is adjusted depending on the diameter and intensity of their combustion. If you make the angle larger, then the fire can spread to all the firewood. If less, they will not slide into the fire on their own as they burn.

Bonfire works like that. The logs are ignited below, as the first burns out, the upper ones lower down under the action of gravity. Due to this, firewood burns in turn, and not all at the same time.

How to do

Prepare four props; they should have a horn on one end. The length of the supports is approximately 1.5 m, the lower ends are pointed, so it will be easier to fix them in the ground.
Prepare four even logs about 2 m long and 10 cm in diameter. These elements hold firewood.

Assemble the structure, put one log on each support, make a semblance of an open book. Logs should lie in one plane. The structure is shaky, we need an assistant to support it.

At the ends of the structure and in the center, dig small recesses, they are necessary for air access. If the logs are completely lying on the ground, then it is impossible to set fire to them from below, but it is necessary to achieve just such burning.
Between the first lower logs, put dry branches, you need to make a slot 5-6 cm wide to allow the flame to go out over the entire length.

Carefully stack firewood in the form of thick logs, they will strengthen the structure with their weight.

The bonfire is ready to use, set fire to the lower part with dry branches. Get the logs to light up along their entire length. This is a prerequisite, otherwise fresh ones will not be able to sink and replace burnt ones.

Findings

As practice has shown, the system works well, depending on the diameter and number of logs it can burn for more than 14 hours - and this is definitely not the limit. But for ordinary tourists it is better to make the construction much smaller, use only the original principle of burning a fire.
