If you need a powerful bearing puller (for example, it is needed to disassemble large electric motors), it can be made from a car bottle jack.

From a piece of thick dowel made of red-hot steel, the author cuts two blanks 200 mm long.

After that, in each workpiece, it is necessary to drill one hole with a diameter of 16 mm.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, we cut off the part of the workpieces with a drilled hole with a grinder.

From the remaining pieces, the master makes "paws." Ready "paws" are welded to the mounts.

Two round billets 50-60 mm long should be cut from a steel round bar with a diameter of 16 mm. They must be welded to the body of the jack (on the sides).

In the place of welding, you will need to grind the paint with a grinder. During welding, the jack body must be watered with water (for cooling) so that the oil inside is not boiling.

Then we put “paws” on the “fingers” welded to the jack, and our home-made hydraulic puller is ready for use.
