The first step is to “gut” the old chair - remove all the soft upholstery from it. Ultimately, only a bare wood frame should remain from the chair.
However, it will also need to be disassembled - for the manufacture of a new chair, only 2 sidewalls will be required.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, we glue PVA carpentry glue all the old joints, if necessary, drill holes and hammer in wooden dowels for greater strength.
After the "updated" and strengthened the old connection, it will be necessary to clean all the parts with a grinder or a grinding machine. Fasten the frame elements together.
Next, the master prepares the wooden blocks of the desired length and proceeds to assemble a new frame for the future chair.
The author also decided to make a seat and backrest out of wooden bars. It turned out very soundly.
