From a large bearing and improvised materials that can easily be found in the garage and workshop, you can make a simple bar bending machine yourself.
With this home-made tool you can bend steel round bars or rebars. Such a simple bar bender is useful, first of all, for those who constantly work with metal bars and make various crafts or useful tools for the workshop from them.
First you need to cut the bearing with a grinder. But not all, but only the outer cage. The inside should remain intact.
Half of the outer race of the bearing is then welded to a piece of steel plate about 10-12 mm thick.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, the master makes a small slot in the inner race of the bearing, and then welds a regular hex nut with a drilled hole so that the stud fits freely.
Next, the stud itself is screwed into this nut. Another nut is screwed onto the end of the stud, which is inside the holder, it will need to be welded. By the way, instead of the usual studs, it is better to use a long bolt.
On that part of the bolt, which is located on the outside of the small cage, it will be necessary to screw another 2 nuts: one regular, which also needs to be welded, and the second - elongated.
At the last stage of work, the master welds an elongated nut screwed onto a stud to a steel plate to which half of the outer race of the bearing is welded. Homemade is ready!
