To make a stylish leather belt with your own hands, it is advisable to use Veg-Tan leather. This is the skin of an American bull, the tanning process of which lasts quite a long time, about six months, but it serves for years. Veg-Tan lends itself well to embossing and polishing. If there is no such skin, then use another variety that will be at hand.

Necessary materials

Of the basic materials you will need: finished leather tape 38 mm wide, a cutting board made of rubber, a metal ruler, a mallet, a special knife for cutting, stamps for engraving with finished embossing.

You will also need a scribing copier, a torzbill, a fur awl, a tool for drawing parallel lines and for grinding the ends, a 5 mm round punch, a water tank and a sponge for wetting, a buckle 40 mm wide, accessories.

The main stages of work

First of all, you need to determine the length, for this you can use the old belt. Then we measure the distance under the tongue for the buckle. We punch a hole under it and fixing screws. We attach the buckle and belt loops. We make holes every 30 mm.

You can emboss. We wet the product with water and use the stamp for engraving and mallet to fill the picture. When embossing is finished, we chamfer the edge of the bezel. Then we process the mixture to mash the ends and polish with a slip.

In conclusion, we cover the finished product with a special tool. Such a belt made of genuine leather is not cheap and there is not always the opportunity to buy it. And having made such a belt with your own hands, you will get a brutal thing in which a piece of your soul will live.
