If you need to install (or change) a window sill in a house or apartment, it is not necessary to call a wizard. This can be done easily and quickly on your own. The technology for installing a PVC window sill is quite simple, so every man can cope with this task.
The first thing you need is the windowsill itself. It has a protective coating (plastic film) - do not rush to remove it. The width of the windowsill is determined individually. Depends on how thick the walls are in the house.
Of the basic materials for work, you will need a tape measure, a large square, an ordinary pencil, a bubble level, a clerical knife, polyurethane foam, a screwdriver and self-tapping screws. Now you can proceed directly to the installation of the windowsill.
The main stages of work
We take a tape measure and measure the length of the window sill - from edge to edge of the window opening. Then you need to transfer the resulting size to the surface of the PVC window sill and draw a straight line using a building square. Next, cut off the desired piece with a grinder.
In the lower part of the window opening, where the window sill will be mounted, we screw the screws with a pitch of 15-20 cm, exposing them at the same level. Then, opposite these self-tapping screws, it is necessary to tighten another row of self-tapping screws, which are installed at the same level. Then we put the window sill.
At the last stage of the work, we will expose part of the window sill, which will adjoin the profile of the PVC window. After that, we foam with the mounting foam the space between the screws. Then we install the window sill back to its native place and press it on top with bricks.
