In fact, this vertical clamp is an alternative to a conventional F-shaped clamp - with this simple home-made device you can fix wooden or metal workpieces in any area of the workbench.

For the manufacture of a desktop vertical clamp, you will need ordinary materials that are found in almost every home workshop:

  • trimming profile pipe 15x15 mm;
  • a piece of steel plate;
  • stud and extended nut.

A rectangular metal plate with a thickness of about 6-8 mm is used as the base of the desktop vertical clamp. It will need to drill 3 holes for attaching to the desktop or workbench.

The main stages of work

Next, you need a segment of the profile pipe 15x15 mm (but it is better to use a more powerful profile), in which with the help of angle grinders or with a band saw, two “wedges” must be cut along the edges. Then bend the workpiece in these places and scald.

The lower part of the vertical rack from the profile must be welded to the base, and a small piece of a strip or rectangular sheet metal is attached to the upper one - an elongated nut will be welded to it.

A clamping “five-piece” is welded to the stud, then it is screwed into an elongated nut, after which a knob will need to be welded to the free end. At the last stage of work, we clean the places of the welds with a grinder, and the structure itself, if desired, can be painted with spray paint.
