From an old grinder you can make a do-it-yourself sanding machine (grinder) for your home workshop with your own hands. The idea is not new, but in this case, the author offers his own version of the design.
Of the basic materials for the manufacture of a home-made grinder, trimming of the profile and the metal plate will be required. And the master made the guide rollers for the sanding belt from plywood.
First of all, it is necessary to cut off the protective casing of the grinder, giving it the necessary shape, and weld a corner to the resulting workpiece. In the corner you need to drill two holes, and make a cut. And all this is attached to the grinder.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, the master cuts 6 round blanks (can be cut from boards or plywood), which are then glued together. This will be the lead roller, which is installed on the grinder. Only he will need to give a suitable shape.
Next, three more additional rollers are made for the grinder. The author decided to make them from solid wood. In each roller it is necessary to make a recess ("seat") to install the bearings.
A metal frame is made from scraps of a profile pipe. Then the master begins to assemble the entire structure.
