Skeletal guns for sealant attract attention with their relatively low cost, but do not differ in build quality. Most often, with intensive use, they fail early. An alternative to these pistols are tubular or half-shell models.

But there is another interesting option - a homemade device based on a screwdriver for the automatic supply of sealant. Thanks to such a simple solution, it is possible to significantly increase labor productivity due to the fact that the sealant can be extruded quickly and easily. Moreover, the adaptation itself can be done by everyone.

The main stages of work

To make this homemade product you will need a minimum of materials: a segment of a hairpin with a diameter of 8 mm and a length of 24 cm (you can also take a hairpin M6), a screw, a metal cup from an old sealant gun, and also a wooden washer with a diameter of 50 mm cut from plywood 10 mm thick.

On one side of the stud, you need to drill a hole and cut the thread under the M4 screw, on the other hand, grind the thread so that the chuck lips are not erased.

At the next stage, a nut with a collar should be pressed into the recess in the wooden washer, which will be installed in the inner part of the container with sealant. The clamping cup itself must be screwed to the end of the stud with a screw. Then the washer is screwed onto the stud.

Then you need to press the wooden washer into the back of the bottle with sealant and, for greater reliability, screw it onto four small screws. We insert the end of the stud into the cartridge, and you can work. The step-by-step process of manufacturing this homemade product, see the video on the site.
